Grocery Store and Self-Checkout

I know by this point in time in our civilization, the self-checkout has gained favoritism amongst all grocery stores and some department stores. I for one don’t have too much of a problem with it, especially when I’m only trying to buy a few items. However, for the overall community, I don’t think it’s the best thing for us.

Self-checkout is here to stay. But it's going through a reckoning | AP News

There need to be more employee checkouts than self checkouts available at any given time. Mainly because I don’t want the machines to take the jobs that humans used to have. It’s taking food off peoples’ tables because the demand for workers is less than before. “Why pay someone when we can have the customer do the work themselves with a machine?” It sounds like a great idea at first, but this type of corporate greed is what is killing our society. I think that the ratio of employees to self checkout machines should be more in favor of the humans, the ones who need money (i.e. a job) to live. What are your thought on this issue?
