Pirates of The Caribbean: Preliminary Thoughts

Pirates of the Caribbean is the cornerstone of the fictional scally-wag film genre. It’s one that I watch at least 3 times a year and never gets dull for me. Personally I think all three are great. The fifth one is good (if you count that one) but I prefer the ones with the full original cast.

If I were to pick an order from worst to best, it’d be 5, 4, 2 & 3, and then 1. Honestly I love 1-4 too much to really weigh any of them over the other. What makes 1 so good is its world building and introductions to these unique characters. It goes without saying that Jack Sparrow is my favorite character in the verse. The way he acts is so obscure that I love it. And his way with words that really only makes sense to him, and no one else around him, is so fun to watch.

Aside from that. Each film has a story line that makes it immersive and fun to watch. This of course is why it’s difficult for me to really have one true favorite. So of course instead, my compromise is to binge watch all of them multiple times a year. Some it’s background noise and other times it’s the most important thing going on in my household. What’s your ranking order of this GOATED film series? If you haven’t seen them, may I ask why not?!
